Hi friends. I’m experimenting with using the Disqus commenting system. If enabled, Disqus allows users to register and track all the comments they put on pages with the system enabled. This could be great for tracking and aggregating your lifestream.

Why Disqus sounds like a great idea

I would love to be able to go back and look at all the comments I’ve left. It also makes possible for threaded comment discussions on blog posts. Disqus can also send and receive replies via mobile and email. Great idea for someone on the go!

Why I’m hesitant to keep rolling with Disqus

I don’t really like the way it reports comments in the Wordpress dashboard. It doesn’t give me reports on the most recent comments and what people have said, unlike the regular WP comment system. Also, I’m not sure people are familiar enough with it to register with Disqus, or if they would even want this sort of tracking system. I’m also unsure as to whether I’m getting more spam comments under the Disqus system.

What do you think?

You all know better than me – what do you prefer?! Disqus or the status quo?
