Some of the disconnect comes from the age gap.

Then there's the whole respect thing. Different is not good or bad. It's different. And different things work in different mediums.

We are across a parking lot from the Express-News newsroom and a good 10 miles from the KENS-5 newsroom. We try to make up for that by having bodies in both newsrooms, but it still makes it hard.

Are technology is such that for the most part we are too busy shoveling to create a lot of good content. That will probably change when we get our new CMS and I can see it ruffling some feathers.

Because we are essentially a third party site (a partnership of the TV station and the newspaper) a lot of people in the newsrooms view us a competition and it's been hard to get buy in. Similar to what you and I faced at MLive.

That said, they continue to come around and are looking to be more involved. The new CMS and website that functions a lot better will only help us work as a more cohesive unit.
