Bloggers, Remixers rejoice. The Library of Congress launched it’s photostream on Flickr, according to Mashable. That means free images!!!

Free images mean you can repost them in your blogs and remix them for new artwork. Pretty cool!

Says Mashable:

In conjunction with Flickr’s new program called The Commons, the Library of Congress has added about 3,000 of its millions of photos to Flickr albums so far

Seems like a ton of work still to do, and Mashable says the LOC will be looking for users’ help in categorizing all of those photos. This will be a great tool for finding good stock art for web pages.

This could be a quick and painless way to find historic photos about your town, people and other facets of American life. What other ways do you find images that you can use in your blogging/producing efforts?
