The MLive.com crew and Business Review staff have worked hard the last week to bring some great Detroit Auto Show coverage to our readers. The posting has been non-stop and the coverage has included videos, photos and interviews.

But the most-read item isn’t necessarily about the newest concept. Nay! It’s a video about how the new Hummer HX concept matches up to the all-terrain vehicle Warthog in the Halo video game series.

Producer and video games blogger Tim Agne interviewed a designer for the Hummer concept and asked him about the similarities. Although the coverage we conducted yesterday primarily focused on the auto show itself, this item hit the front page of Digg today. (Digg it!).

The comments were very supportive and it shows how covering niche topics and unearthing these items of note can really add to coverage of larger events. People love to hear the news, but getting the inside scoop on stuff they might not otherwise learn is where they will really grab on.

Have your stories hit the front page of Digg? Which ones? What happened?
