Ever notice yourself or loved one in a news story and noticed a glaring error or wanted to shoot back a retort?

You might be in luck. Says Mashable, Google has added comments to stories in Google News. But there’s a catch.

Commenters have to be someone who is included in the story, and they must verify that with Google through an email address or some other means before they can comment.

So what’s the big deal? Says Mashable:

I suspect this could put Google in the dangerous role of being a human editor: who decides what comments get published? Are ill-informed rants acceptable? What about propaganda? Could be very tricky indeed.

With Google owning the feed and now playing editor, are the prophecies set forth in the sci-fi media short thriller Epic 2014 come true??? Are Google comments going to skew news as we know it?
